What a coating actually is
A ceramic coating is a liquid silica polymer. Applied to properly prepped paint, it cures into a transparent, glass-hard layer that becomes part of the surface rather than sitting on it. That layer is what handles UV, bird droppings, tree sap, magnesium chloride off winter roads, and the fine grit that turns into swirl marks every time you wipe the car down.
The part owners notice first is hydrophobics. Water pulls into tight beads and rolls off, taking dust with it. Rain becomes a rinse cycle instead of a spotting event. The second thing they notice is depth — corrected, coated paint reflects like wet glass, and it keeps doing it through year three, four, five.
Prep is where the money goes. We wash, decontaminate with iron remover and clay, tape trim, and — on the correction packages — machine-polish the paint before a drop of coating touches it. Coating dirty or swirled paint just preserves the problem in high definition.
Cost per year vs. waxing
A decent wax runs about $80 professionally applied and lasts roughly three months. That's four applications a year — around $320 annually, every year, forever.

How the coating day works

Decon wash
Foam wash, iron remover, clay bar. Every bonded contaminant comes off before we touch paint with a machine.
- 02
Correct
On correction packages, a Stage 1 polish removes light swirls, wash marks and oxidation to restore true gloss.
- 03
Coat and cure
Coating is leveled panel by panel, then cures indoors. Keep it dry for 24 hours; full hardness in about a week.
